Location located in a fortified medieval village built in the mountains of Abruzzo at an altitude of over 1250 metres, within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. The current urban configuration of the village was formed in the Middle Ages when the phenomenon of "incastellamento" developed: hilltop settlements surrounded by a fortified wall perimeter that still remain one of the most characteristic historical-topographical elements of the Italian landscape. You will stay in rooms that have been renovated using the original domestic organisation, the exclusive use of salvaged architectural materials, the use of the poor furnishings of the Abruzzi mountains, to preserve, in the signs of the suffering of time, in the traces of an ancient past, the deepest and most authentic soul of these places.
The experience will allow you to visit beautiful landscapes in the company of an expert and his dogs as you discover these renowned mushrooms.
The truffle has a very ancient history so much so that it was much appreciated at the table by the ancient Romans even though its origin was never established. In our times, especially the white one, it is considered one of the most prized foods in local gastronomy.
Abruzzo is the leading region in Italy in terms of truffle production and there are many different types.
Combined with a fascinating stay, you can choose to take part in the harvesting activity, which involves a hike through the forest or truffle ground with our truffle hunter and his dogs, in search of the precious tuber.
