Travelling green is definitely the best choice you can make for our planet. Move has always been environmentally conscious and committed to a better future. We therefore have for you a few little tricks, which we ourselves follow, to put into practice during your holiday.

RESEARCH AND RESPECT THE CULTURE OF THE PLACES YOU ARE VISITING.
You know: when in Rome, do as the Romans do. At Move, through our social profiles and our blog, we try to share the curiosities, cultures and customs of the places our customers want to visit. It is important to know how to get around and how to respect our surroundings in a country that is not our own. From being respectful of local animals to gastronomic customs, asking local people and guides for advice would be ideal for a unique experience!

One of the tips we would like to share with our customers is definitely to support local activities even when you want to bring a souvenir from your place of stay. Why buy souvenirs at the airport when you can help the population and in addition find unique, evocative and traditional gadgets?
INCLUDE EVERYTHING REUSABLE IN YOUR LUGGAGE.
We will never stop saying it: a small measure is definitely to take everything with you that can be reused. For example, there are many plastic-free alternatives that you can put in your beauty case. From bubble bath/shampoo to cloth make-up remover cloths, every option can be a good choice to help our planet!
FAVOUR ECO-FRIENDLY FACILITIES
Many facilities respect and help the environment with small measures that really make a difference... how? For example, eco-friendly hotels are equipped with photovoltaic systems for the production of clean energy and rainwater collection systems for reuse. Attention to the environment also extends to waste management and the use of organic and zero-kilometre products in the restaurant kitchen.
AVOIDING WASTE
To avoid waste during your hotel stay, the first piece of advice we would like to share with you is to be careful about wasting energy. When you leave the hotel to visit your destination, remember not to leave the air conditioning or heating on, you can use it again when you return. Turning off the running water seems obvious to us, but we can ask you to reuse the towels provided by the facilities as much as possible to reduce unnecessary washing and thus energy waste.
CHOOSE TO TRAVEL BY ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE MEANS
We know: On holiday you want to choose convenient and fast means of transport such as taxis or hire cars. An alternative that can be environmentally friendly is to use public transport. If the idea of taking a bus or metro frightens you, bicycles that can be rented around the city or from a specialised bike hire company are environmentally friendly and give us the opportunity not only to get around, but also to look at the place we are visiting from a different perspective. If, on the other hand, the route you have to take is not too long or demanding, the healthiest and most environmentally friendly alternative is still walking!
FOR YOUR RELAXATION BREAKS
For coffee breaks, we advise you to avoid take-away packs as much as possible. Instead, try to enjoy your moment of relaxation in the café of your choice, and if you just can't stop, bring along or buy a reusable cup that you can conveniently take with you and fill with whatever you like.
THE IMPORTANCE OF VISITING NATIONAL PARKS
If you are a nature lover or simply curious to spend a few hours in the wilder part of the place where you are spending your holiday, our advice is to ask a local guide to visit the national parks in the area. With your visit, you will contribute a small sum or offering to the maintenance of these areas and the care of the local flora and fauna.

Last but not least. One of the best ways to help the environment is to share your tips with friends and acquaintances. It takes very little to make a difference, and we at Move, in our own small way, also feel that we should be part of those who try to leave a better world for others.
